Information:
Jon Helm (M.Arts, M.Mus., B.Arts, B.Mus.) is a musician, musicologist, composer/arranger, conductor and music educator. He is currently the Community Programs Coordinator for the Empress Theatre in Fort Macleod where he combines his love of the arts with arts education programming. Having grown up in Alberta, Jon is happy to be back after spending several years in graduate studies in Ontario in the field of Musicology. He has taught music classes and seminars as well as having performed on historical and modern instruments in both Canada and the US. His areas of interest include 17th century Italian instrumental music, popular song and dance music from the 16th to the 19th centuries, novelty records, unusual instruments, tai chi applications for musicians, and spending time with his wife and daughter.
